About GBPCGameKeys

What does GBPCGameKeys sell?

Digital activation keys for PC games on Steam - one-time codes you redeem in the Steam client to add the game to your own Steam library. Browse the full range on the catalogue.

We don't ship anything physical. Steam is the only platform we cover today, but we plan to roll out support for additional storefronts and platforms in the future.

Are the keys genuine, and why are they cheaper than Steam?

Yes - every code is genuine and sourced through trusted supplier partners that buy in wholesale from publishers and authorised distributors. The code you receive is the same code Steam itself accepts; the lower price reflects regional and channel pricing differences in the wholesale market rather than anything about the key itself. Where Steam is running a bigger sale than us, the Steam price is shown alongside ours on the product page so you can compare directly.

Buying & payment

How do I buy a Steam key from GBPCGameKeys?

Find the title you want via the catalogue or the search bar at the top of the page, click Add to cart, then open your cart and click Checkout. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe-hosted payment page to enter your card details. Once payment clears we'll email you a confirmation, and the activation key will appear on your Orders page.

We recommend redeeming the code on Steam straight after purchase so you can confirm everything works while you're still at the keyboard.

Do I need an account?

Yes. An account is required to check out so we can attach your order to a profile, store your activation keys behind a login, and send you the confirmation email. Registration is free and only needs an email address and a password - create one here.

What payment methods do you accept, and is checkout secure?

Payments go through Stripe, one of the largest payment processors in the world, with security and fraud prevention as a top priority. You can pay with any major debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and the region-specific wallets Stripe supports at checkout, including Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device offers them.

The whole payment step happens on Stripe's own pages over HTTPS, and your card details never touch our servers.

What currency are prices in?

Every price on the site, in your cart, and at checkout is shown in GBP (£). If your card is issued in a different currency, your bank will convert at their own rate when the charge settles.

Delivery & activation

How quickly do I get my Steam key?

Usually within seconds, occasionally within a few minutes for titles where the supplier needs a moment to mint the code. If it's been more than 10 minutes and nothing has arrived, see I haven't received my key - what now? below. In the rare event we can't deliver a code at all, the order is automatically refunded in full.

Where do I find my key after I buy?

Sign in and open My Account → Orders, click the order, then View activation keys. Your code stays there indefinitely, so you don't have to worry about losing the email.

I haven't received my key - what now?

First, check My Account → Orders: the key is always available there as soon as the supplier delivers it, even if the email is delayed or caught by a spam filter. If the order is still marked fulfilling after a few minutes, hit the Refresh keys button on the order page. Anything still missing after that, email us at support@pcgamekeys.co.uk with your order number and we'll sort it.

Redeeming your Steam code

Every code we sell activates through the Steam client. If you've never done it before, here's the full walkthrough:

  1. Install Steam. Download the Steam client from store.steampowered.com/about and install it on your PC. If you already have Steam, skip ahead.

  2. Sign in and open the Games menu. Launch Steam, log in, then click Games in the top menu bar and choose Activate a Product on Steam…

Steam client showing the Games menu open with 'Activate a Product on Steam…' highlighted.
Games menu → Activate a Product on Steam…
  3. Enter your code. Step through the activation wizard until you reach the Product Code field, then paste the code shown on your Orders page and follow the prompts to finish.

Steam Product Activation dialog with a Product Code input field.
Paste the activation code into the Product Code field.
  4. Download and play. The game appears in your Steam Library once activation finishes. Click it to download and install whenever you're ready.

Steam has its own troubleshooting walkthrough if the client throws an error during activation - help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithSteam is the best starting point.

Will the Steam key work in my country?

We currently recommend purchasing only from the UK, as that's the region we've tested our keys in. Many codes will work outside the UK, but we can't guarantee it in every case so we don't recommend redeeming from elsewhere right now. We'll soon roll out features that explicitly show the regions a key is confirmed to support, on each product page.

Account & orders

How do I see my past orders?

Sign in and open My Account → Orders. Every order you've placed is listed there with its status, total, and a link through to the activation keys.

I've forgotten my password.

Use the Forgot password page and we'll email you a reset link. The link is valid for one hour, and using it signs every other device out for safety.

Can I change my email address?

Not from the site directly yet. Email us at support@pcgamekeys.co.uk from the address on the account and we'll update it for you.

Refunds & problems

What's your refund policy?

If we fail to deliver a working code, we'll always refund you in full - no questions asked. That covers anything that's gone wrong on our side: the code never arrived, came through invalid, or had already been used.

Once a code has been revealed to you, however, it can't be refunded. Digital codes are self-contained - we have no way to verify that a revealed code hasn't been redeemed (or shared) after a refund, so the moment the value leaves our hands it's yours. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.

The code says "already used" or "invalid".

Email support@pcgamekeys.co.uk with your order number and a screenshot of the exact error Steam showed you. We'll verify with our supplier and either reissue a working code or refund you in full - this is on us.

My payment failed but the money left my account.

When a card payment fails at the Stripe step, your bank will sometimes hold the amount as a pending authorisation before releasing it - usually within a few business days, depending on the bank. No order is created on our side and no charge is captured, so there's nothing for us to refund. If the hold doesn't clear after a week, contact your bank with the date and amount.

The order was auto-refunded - why?

Occasionally our supplier rejects an order after the payment has already gone through (a stock mismatch, a price drift, etc.). When that happens we automatically refund the charge through Stripe so you don't have to chase it - the refund usually lands on your card within 5-10 business days. You'll see the order marked refunded on your orders page.

The game itself is broken / I want a refund on the game.

Once a key is redeemed on Steam, the game lives in your Steam library and any refund request goes through Steam's own refund policy (typically: under two hours of playtime, within fourteen days of purchase). We can't refund a key that's already been activated - the value left our account the moment Steam accepted the code.

Still stuck?

Email support@pcgamekeys.co.uk with your order number and a description of what's gone wrong. There's more detail on what to include on the Contact page.
